As you come to Charlotte...
There are many things to do this weekend. My strong suggestion is that you check out the new exhibition at the Gantt Center for African American Art and Culture on Saturday http://www.ganttcenter.org/exhibitions/. This is a community day opening, so there will be lots of activities to engage all ages, but no docent led activities for groups. If you plan on going and are driving, please park in the Duke Energy Center Parking Lot (enter off Church Street) on Levels 1 & 2 (the Gantt will validate your parking once you come into the Museum). Also, if you are planning on going to other Museums on North Tryon (Discovery Place, ImaginOn, Museum of the New South) the parking lot under ImaginOn will validate at the Front Desk as well https://www.imaginon.org/ .
Hertz maintains a rental car location in the DoubleTree Gateway. If you plan on renting a car and you are flying in, I would strongly suggest using them and taking the Sprinter Bus from the airport. http://www.charlottecentercity.org/transportation/sprinter/This will allow you to avoid the taxes in the airport area.
